This is what is known as the Brunswick home table. This antique pool table, circa 1885, is walnut with inlays of burled ash, Brazilian rosewood, ebony, mahogany and maple and rosewood rails. This table was part of what was known as the “royal family” of billiards tables. It possess elegant design with a rich finish. The wood is alluring and durable. In a catalog listing for the table it was said “age serves but to enhance its richness and beauty.”
BRUNSWICK BRILLIANT NOVELTY 9’
Antique Pool Table
Walnut with inlays of Ash Burl, Mahogany, Maple, Ebony and Rosewood with Rosewood rails.
A great example of a Walnut Brilliant novelty out of the San Francisco area.
I was able to purchase this table from a second owner in San Mateo California.
It is intricate and a fine example of an early antique pool table model by Brunswick.
